It is our privilege and honor to announce this year's LDEI Grande Dame is Shirley Corriher of the Atlanta Chapter. Shirley was nominated by both the Atlanta and Charleston Chapters. She has graciously accepted this honor and will be in Philadelphia to be recognized as our 2009 LDEI Grande Dame.

Georgia Organics board president prepares for 1,000 people to attend annual conference and trade show

Barbara Petit transitioned from a job as a health care consultant 20 years ago to start a career in the food industry. Initially working for a local catering company, Petit's love of food and cooking led her to become involved in the organics movement. Now, as board president of Georgia Organics, she's preparing for the organization's 12th annual conference and trade show. About 1,000 people  attended the March 20-21 event in Decatur.

The Dames Cookbook is Honored???

Dear Dames:   
In recognition of your many contributions to the book Cooking with Les Dames d'Escoffier edited by Marcella Rosene with Pat Mozersky, we are pleased to announce that the book has been nominated as a finalist in the Compilations category of the 2009 IACP Cookbook Awards. To be selected as a finalist from the over 400 cookbooks submitted to the International Association of Culinary Professionals is a great honor! We're so proud of you and your book! And our special congratulations go out to Marcella Rosene and Pat Mozersky. Our fingers will be crossed until April 4 when the winners will be announced.
