I hope everyone has had a happy and healthy start to 2018 to 2018. There are so many exciting things on the horizon for our chapter, and I am personally looking forward to working closely with many of you on some fun, and important projects.
When I attended the very first meeting of potential Atlanta Dames (I say potential because during that first meeting we were just exploring the opportunity of having an Atlanta Chapter of LDEI) in Nathalie Dupree's, then Ansley Park home, I looked around the room and wondered, who are these accomplished women? How can I get to know them, and how can I become one of them? The answer was to become a member, throw myself into Les Dames' service, planning, and activities.
Many of the original members have moved on to other adventures in their careers or relocated, but the grand lot of us are still members, are dear friends and colleagues. It's a bit more challenging now that our chapter is so big, however, I am determined to have us reignite a flame of enthusiasm for service, friendship, and collaboration.
I'm also very keen on us exploring opportunities to strengthen our "brand" as well as our position in Atlanta's cultural landscape. By shining a spotlight on not only our chapter, but on individual members-your personal and professional accomplishments and aspirations-I believe that we can show the public who we are in creative, and robust ways.
Keep your eyes peeled on these newsletters for ways you can dive in. I hope you will join us in our bold leap forward as a unified group, and an exciting service organization.
